Could you help manage your club?

This year's AGM will take place on Friday 28th November and we are keen to find members interested in joining the Committee to help manage the club and its affairs.
We are also always looking to ensure we meet the needs of our members, be it racing, cruising, social activities and possible new water-based activities. We need a Committee that reflects the different aspects of the Club and one whose members have a broad range of skills.
Please don't be put off thinking your personal skills and experiences wouldn't be relevant, you would be surprised what the Committee get asked to do. Although we stick to a formal process, the actual meetings are quite informal and sociable. The Committee meets once a month either in person or via zoom, except over the summer holidays, and members do duties such as the opening and closing of the club on Sundays and Saturday afternoons. You can still sail or do a regular duty such as safety, race officer or galley, on your Committee duty day.
There are several vacant roles: we especially need to find a new Membership Secretary as the current one is standing down. This is an important position which will need filling. However, the workload is less than it used to be as our new IT system Sailing Club Manager has automated aspects of the role.
Nominations to the Committee need to be received before 1st October and sent to Club Secretary Maria: secretary@huntssc.org.uk.
If you are interested in joining us and want to find out more, please contact either the Vice Commodore mark.dunne@huntssc.org.uk or the Rear Commodore vanessa.weedon-jones@huntssc.org.uk and either come and have a chat at the Club we are both there quite regularly, or drop us an email.
