Learn to sail - RYA Stages 1 and 2 for young beginners (01/08/22)

Aimed at complete novices aged from 8 up to 16, these four days of fun afloat will give your child a head start for some great summer sailing.

They will learn how to rig and launch a small boat with help where needed, sail across the wind, including both tacking and gybing, and also experience capsize in a safe, controlled environment. All of this is done through a combination of games and structured activities designed to help them learn whilst maximising the fun factor.

By the end of the four days your child can hope to have gained the RYA Stages 1 and 2 certificates, and should be able to come back to the club, hire a boat and go sailing whenever there’s a safety boat out.
