RYA Sailing with Spinnakers

During these two days you will learn how to handle a modern asymetric spinnaker, covering power zones and boat speed, balance, and how to hoist, gybe and drop a spinnaker. The course follows the RYA Sailing With Spinnakers syllabus from the National Sailing Scheme, with successful candidates receiving the certificate on completion. We will cover :

• How to rig the asymmetric spinnaker on the club double handers (2Ks, Fevas)
• The hoist, set and trimming of the spinnaker 
• How to gybe and recover 
• How to sail the best possible course downwind (introduction to apparent wind) 
• Capsizing with the spinnaker 

This is an advanced sailing course and we expect participants to have good sailing and seamanship skills. For youth sailors this would be a suitable course suitable course for those having already completed at least Stages 2 and 3 and we are also accepting adults.
