April

Assistant Instructor: 13 and 20 April, third day to be undertaken as 'on the job' during a course. Age 14+.

This course is a great way in to instructing for those who just want to volunteer at the club or those who want to go on to qualify as a Dinghy Instructor. You will learn the basics of teaching beginners to sail as well as improving your own sailing and communication skills. This training is free to members but you will need to be available to assist on RYA beginner courses this year. Places are limited and will be allocated following discussion by the training committee.
Prerequisite: advanced module or equivalent experience. Age 14 plus.

RYA Start Racing: 3-5 April: For adults and juniors.

Race training for both juniors and adults at novice and intermediate level.
Prerequisite: Must be able to sail a triangular course in good conditions, rig and launch withg minimal assistance and recover from capsize with minimal assistance.

RYA Club Racing: 3-5 April. For adults and juniors.

Race training for both juniors and adults at novice and intermediate level.
Prerequisite: some club racing experience. Must be able to sail a triangular course in good conditions, rig and launch withg minimal assistance and recover from capsize with minimal assistance.

Seamanship Skills: 6-7 April. Age 14+.

Advanced boat handling that will enable you to sail your boat with maximum efficiency, useful across all aspects of sailing, including racing me cruising, Great preparation for an Assistant Instructor or Dinghy Instructor course.
Prerequisite: Level 2 / Stage 4 or equivalent experience.

RYA Start Sailing (Level 1): 11-12 May. For adults and older teens.

Prerequisite: none.

RYA Basic Skills (Level 2): 26-27 May. For adults and older teens.

Prerequisite: Level 1 or equivalent experience.

Cadet Week - 27 May to 1 June. Age 8+.

Gain an RYA stage and become more water confident. Prerequisite: none.

 

June

RYA Start Sailing (Level 1): 22-23 June. For adults and older teens.

Prerequisite: none.

RYA Basic Skills (Level 2): 29-30 June. For adults and older teens.

Prerequisite: Level 1.

 

July

Learn to sail - 29 July - 2 August.

A range of courses to suit beginners to intermediate.
Prerequisite: none.

 

August

Boat Camp - 12 to 15 August: Age 8+.

Fun activities on and off the water.
Prerequisite: Stage 2.
