If you have sailed recently you will have noticed there is floating weed around the slipway and powerboat mooring areas. We are looking for help in pulling this out, if you have time on Sunday morning before racing please come down and help. Bring your wellies!
September Work Parties – Saturday 14th September from 9.30 to 1pm-ish.
The proposed project will be clearing the overgrown areas as you come into the club. There is a safety issue with visibility when driving in but also, we are keen that both potential new members and visitors first sight of the club is one of well-maintained grounds with fantastic views across our brilliant lake and reed beds.
We suggest you bring thick gardening gloves (lots of brambles) pruning/bow saws, loppers, petrol strimmer (if using the latter must use eye and ear protectors). For those who have log burners this is a good opportunity to stock up for winter from this coppicing work.
October Work Parties - One for your diary the October Work-party will be on Saturday, 5 October 9.30-1pm. The project for this one will be to finish off clearing the reclaimed land now the green fence has been moved out to our boundary. This will include cutting back brambles, cutting to ground level old tree stumps, coppicing the last few saplings, filling in rabbit holes, generally making the whole area safe and lawn-mower friendly!
